About Little Shakers — Meet Alana, Founder & Dance Instructor

Premium dance, made for little ones

Hi, I'm Alana, mum, dancer & founder of Little Shakers.

I grew up dancing and went on to perform professionally across multiple genres — contemporary, ballet, jazz and cheer. A dream I never imagined as a little girl twirling around my lounge room.

As a mum of two girls (aged 2½ and 5), I see firsthand how much preschoolers love to move and how much it shapes their confidence, focus and joy. I built Little Shakers because every child deserves access to quality dance, woven into their daycare day.

This is more than a dance class. It's a structured movement program designed with early learning outcomes at its heart. Trusted by childcare centres and loved by little movers across the region.

Our values

Joy First

Dance should feel like play. Every class leads with energy, laughter and silliness — because preschoolers learn deepest when they're having the time of their lives.

Every Child Belongs

Boys and girls. Loud and quiet. Confident and shy. Little Shakers is for every preschooler — with no expectation, no pressure and zero judgement.

Purposeful Play

Behind every gallop, ribbon and giggle is intentional learning. We honour the trust educators and families place in us with classes built on real developmental outcomes.

Proudly EYLF aligned

Every Little Shakers class is mapped to the Early Years Learning Framework. Educators can document real, observable outcomes from every session — supporting your centre's program with confidence.

1

Identity

Children develop a strong sense of self through creative expression and the celebration of individual movement styles.

2

Community

Partner and group activities build connection, turn-taking, empathy and a sense of belonging.

3

Wellbeing

Active movement supports physical health, emotional regulation and the development of body confidence.

4

Learning

Curiosity-led exploration, problem-solving through movement and intrinsic motivation to try new things.

5

Communication

Children learn to express ideas through their bodies, listen to musical cues and collaborate non-verbally.
